Hi my name is Nicole and I hired Steve to help me build a 2 x 4 frost wall in my basement. I was so impressed and comfortable working with him that I hired him to help with the finishing of my house. Steve and I worked together and he taught me about carpentry along the way. He made sure to explain why we were doing each step. Steve always kept my budget in mind.

I am writing this Letter of Reference for the above, as I have had Steve to my residence numerous times. Our 1975 house looked worn and I never believed would look decent again. Steve came in with ideas that I never thought could make such a difference. He was patient as I didn’t know what I wanted . I was surprised in the difference between him and other painters I had had. I felt safe with him in the house, had no worries about leaving him in the house alone. I am still raving to my friends what a good job he did, my old worn house looks new again. I also had Steve landscape my front yard. I told him what I wanted, went to work, when I came home the job was done exactly as I requested.I plan on having Steve again this summer for on going renovations.

This is a letter of recommendation for Steve Knisley for employment. Steve worked with Haiti ARISE Ministries, a registered non-profit organization in the US and Canada, with its base of operations in the Caribbean country of Haiti. We have a technical college that runs on the basis of qualified volunteer instructors for each course of study. Steve served as a volunteer instructor for the time period of Oct 2006- February 2008 and gave wholeheartedly of his time, talent, work ethic and resources to teach two full-time carpentry classes of seven students each. His duties included class curriculum outline & planning, teaching of various subjects including mathematics, hands on shop training with a variety of tools, and overseeing of carpentry projects. Outside of his class time commitment, he was also involved in a variety of volunteer activities within the ministry compound. He exhibited flexibility, availability, and willingness to learn and be stretched in many areas.
Steve has many exceptional qualities that make him a valuable employee. He is very organized, systematic and plans well. When given a task to accomplish, he gives himself to it fully and sees it to completion with a spirit of excellence. All of his classroom teaching and projects demonstrated this clearly. He is integral and honest in his business dealings and has a strong work ethic. He works well with others, shows himself friendly and has the ability to work through difficult situations.
Steve Knisley was a valuable and strong member of our Haiti ARISE Ministries team during the time that he served here with us. We would recommend him for employment in your company.
